A sunny day at last!!!

And everything is nearly dry at last

So after a rather longer than expected trip to the supermarket, passing a very large mussel on the way, it was nearly time to head for the much publicised Islands.

But first the Bruinisse marina which has a lot of brick and glass. All very nice.
Lynn discovered that the toilet block has two entrances and upon leaving by the other one was completely confused as to where she was. I put it down to a lack of protein – there have been a lot of salads! But she eventually found her way back.

The chandlery is very well stocked but very expensive as lots of things are here – especially beer and clothes.
A couple of boats caught my attention.
This one is obviously having trouble with the box berthing, probably why the boat was called Pilus!

And naming your boat Isis, referring to the mother of Horus I presume, must flag something up when you radio the authorities🤣

So onto Mosselbank islands which is tiny and only a mile away from the marina. There was an observation tower there and lots and lots of other boats

Without realising it we moored next to a boat we had met earlier in the voyage. The skipper was a very helpful man full of advice on places not to miss. We really appreciated his advice.
We met him again later and he gave us more advice. We didn’t appreciate it quite so much that time, and the prospect of staying overnight in the next berth was an advice overload risk we just weren’t prepared to take!
So we headed north east, which we could just manage on a very close reach, to the island of Stampersplaat.
On the way a seagull hovered over us gradually getting closer and eventually landing on the pushpit about 6 inches from Lynns head. I’ve never known that before, just tired perhaps and it stayed until we tacked!

Stampersplaat moorings were all rafted up. It is Saturday I suppose. So on to Dwars in den Weg where we found a pontoon with just a couple of other boats. Island High Points here are wild horses which surrounded us rather disturbingly but seemed ok in the end and filthy toilets !
Oh, and a rubber glove

Initial thoughts are that the free islands in Veerse Meer were better than the paid ones here. But perhaps I’m judging too soon.
We’ll investigate further tomorrow!!
