Sailing to Holland

In September 2017 Lynn and I sat in Eastbourne Marina ready to set sail.
The boat was provisioned. Charts of Holland had been purchased or borrowed.
The passage plans were completed…
But after 4 days of torrential rain and gale-force winds that showed no sign of abating we decided to do the seamanlike thing and booked a flight to the Algarve where we found  Sun, Sand and Warm Seas!

Undeterred we are trying again!

The plan is to leave Eastbourne on Wednesday 6th June and sail to Dover, then hop up the French and Belgian coast and enter the Inland Waterways at Vlissingen with the final destination being Amsterdam.

So these will be my first blogs and as I’ll be sending them from my phone – expect lots of mis-spellings!
