Topiary topiary everywhere, and not a drop….

No, that’s the wrong story, but there is an awful lot of it about!

Topiary, that is!

It’s all very much like a model village with clean, ordered, well tended houses and gardens – huge open spaces (not the place for an agoraphobics convention) and lots of cyclists of course. Kind of like the Stepford Wives except it’s absolutely rammed with old people being pushed in wheelchairs! Stepford never had any of those that I can remember!! What’s that about? Perhaps it’s the Bexhill of Belgium!

However a lovely sunny day with light winds.

This wind sock was impressively rigid and horizontal when we passed it yesterday – today, a flacid shadow of its former self with boats cruising leisurely in and out – all Tshirts and shorts. We definitely picked the wrong day for sailing!

There is a nice row of EU flags and here is Lynn under the UK flag. Could be one of the last pictures you see with it included in the line up 🤣

There are more passport checks than last time I was here. The marina offices just shrug and say ‘Brexit’. Looks like we’ll need a visa soon.

If you’ve ever wondered what that part of a west cardinal buoy you hope never to see looks like – then here it is. Quite a draft. If it’s as deep as all that do we really need to avoid them I wonder.

Also saw this very large memorial to ‘Alberto’. Could it be the famous Alberto Balsam I wonder?

So long walk round the town – 25,000 steps according to Lynn’s Fitbit.

Other high points (!) … Beer (cornet), ice cream (cornet) and soup..

Just off to check tomorrow’s weather and look at passage plan.
