Home, Home on the Range

There are no deer or antelope here in Eastbourne, just lots of people watching television.

Must be a royal wedding or a cricket match or something …

At last we’re home and have survived the Horrors Of The Deep!!

When I asked Dover Port Control for permission to leave the harbour they said ‘glad you got your repairs done’, so we have a little fame, or notoriety, in Dover at least 🤣

A fair tide from Dover saw us doing 7.8kn over the ground round Dungeness

We discovered that Lydd range was firing live amo so there was a bit of a detour south, but it was all sun and glassy seas 👍

It was after Dungeness that the flies attacked, but Lynn stood her ground and there were heavy casualties in the insect battalions.

After Hastings the wind got up to 20kn – on the nose as always but we were nearly home by then.

So that was that!

A visit to my Mum in Hastings hospital and then back to the boat to eat.

Tomorrow the big clean up starts and the washing machine will get a bashing. Also I’ll post a review of the whole trip – but right now all I’m good for is a long sleep 💤💤💤
